After Easter: A focus on follow-up

Resurrection Day services remain one of the largest evangelistic opportunities for churches, particularly this year with the culmination of the GPS: Across North America campaign in many churches. Here are some key points for following up with guests:

  • Visit – Make an initial contact as soon as possible, possibly offering a small gift and information about the church.
  • Prayer – Ask guests how you can pray for them as a bridge to spiritual conversations.
  • Enroll – Participation in a small group fosters relationships with believers and provides an ideal forum for getting questions answered.
  • Minister – Identify needs newcomers have that your church or small group can meet.
  • Invite – Research shows 82 percent of nonchurched Americans will attend a small group if asked, but only 20 percent have been invited.
