Dr. Linthicum has been rebuilding poor urban communities since 1955. He has pastored churches in Rockford and Chicago, IL; Milwaukee, and Detroit where he helped form nine community organizations, people-businesses, and housing efforts. From 1985-1995, Dr. Linthicum headed the urban work of World Vision where he guided community organizers in developing nations in support of slum-dwellers who built multiple organizations and businesses, and over 6,000 homes. Since 1996, he has been the President of Partners in Urban Transformation. He is the author of 14 books, including City of God City of Satan, Transforming Power, Empowering the Poor, and Building a People o Power.
